A wind advisory is in effect for the following counties: Oneida, Herkimer, Otsego, Hamilton, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie County. "Almost 80 people attended last week’s meeting of the Waterville Board of Education to show support to keep the position of assistant treasurer/tax collector. Among the 28 people who spoke to request the board not eliminate the position was Linda Hughes, who has filled the role for the last eight years. Under the proposal by Superintendent Gary Lonczak, Hughes would have been laid off Dec. 10. Instead, board members pulled the item from the agenda and did not vote on it." Jody Hildreth makes taking pictures look so easy! But then, when the rest of us try to take a picture of a fountain or a bird or a fern, we just don't seem to get the same results! Well, yes: Jody has a really different sort of camera, to be sure, AND he takes time to do things "just so"! I, for one, appreciate all of his work, and am so glad that he's willing to share the results with all of us!
Jody was recently published in the Birding journal, WildBird Magazine. He wrote an article titled "Inspire Birders-to-be: With these proven ideas, you can show the wonder of birds to children." The article just came out in the Jan/Feb 2011 issue. This is the same magazine that awarded Jody the “Birder of the Year” award in 2004 for his work with children and birding.
