The WKTV forecast: "*A lake effect snow warning is in effect for Southern Oneida and Madison County until 1PM Thursday*
Light lake effect snow this morning continues across Central New York. The roadways are expected to be generally OK for the morning commute. Lake effect squalls will develop late this afternoon and evening across Southern Oneida, Madison, Chenango, and Otsego County. If your evening commute crosses these areas, be prepared to deal with some snow for your drive home.
Heavy lake effect develops tonight across Southern Oneida, Madison, Chenango, and Western Otsego County. Several more inches of snow is expected to fall tonight. Check back with us later this morning for the overnight snowfall forecast. (My emphasis!)
Lake effect weakens by Thursday afternoon, with some lingering snow showers on Friday. Temperatures will return to more seasonable levels by the weekend.
